Wheelchair joy for Eleanor

Eleanor Wild of Newcastle upon Tyne, was awarded a grant for a Specialist Wheelchair in June 2006, and she is absolutely delighted with it!

Eleanor, a pupil at the Northern Counties School in Jesmond, was born with cerebral palsy. Her old wheelchair used to make it difficult to join in with her brother Ben and sister Lucy.

Her mum, Caroline said: “We often go to the park and Eleanor found it difficult because her brother and sister like to run around and play a lot of the time. In her new wheelchair, though, it is easier to go over thick grass and things like that so at least we can all be together.”

The lightweight frame and modern design of the wheelchair has made Eleanor more comfortable. The new wheelchair is easier to manoeuvre around school and travelling has become a lot easier for the family.
