Gift of trike boosts David’s health
David Marr of High Heaton has cerebral palsy. He and his family are delighted with his new specialist trike, and the improvement it has already made to his life.
“There was an exhibition of the bikes at Percy Hedley, where David goes to school, so we went along and he loved them. Then another parent told us about The Sunshine Fund and we applied for the grant.”
David can now play out with his friends in the street, is starting to climb the stairs and often goes out with all the family on bike rides. Patricia also said “there is a definite improvement already. His legs are far stronger than they were”.
“When he gets going he can get quite fast and we sometimes struggle to keep up with him, to be honest … now there’s no stopping him. It’s a brilliant piece of kit.”
Sunshine Fund manager Jo Harris, said: “We were delighted to help the family with the trike and are really pleased with how much it seems to be helping him.
“We wish him all the best and hope that his legs get as strong as they can.”
