Funds help change a little girl’s life

01 October 2009

A little girl with a rare genetic condition has had her life transformed, thanks to the Sunshine Fund.

The fund paid for a new touch-screen computer monitor for six-year-old Rebecca Pullen, who has a rare degenerative condition.

She developed Rett Syndrome as she was growing up, which has left her unable to talk, write or move properly.

The Sunshine Fund donated more than £600 to pay for the equipment, which allows her to learn and communicate with her parents.

Her mum, Carol, said: “It has just changed her life. She just loves using the machine and it really allows us to help her.
“I had to give up work to look after Rebecca. It is very hard to survive on just one wage. We wouldn’t have been able to afford this monitor if it wasn’t for the Sunshine Fund. I just can’t say thank you enough.”
