Joe’s riding high!
29 September 2009
Free to enjoy playing with his friends, Joe Fantin’s trike means the world to him.
The nine-year-old was gifted the specially designed and measured bike by the Sunshine Fund.
The donation of a similar bike by the charity five years ago changed Joe’s life.
Joe suffers from hypotonia, global delay and hypermobility, has difficulty moving and must wear splints on his legs. However, he started to grow out of his bike and his mum was concerned not having this mobility would hold him back. But thanks to the fund Joe can keep the independence he craves.
His mum, Michelle, said: “He got his first trike when he was four and it made such a difference to his life.”
Sunshine Fund manager Jo Harris, said: “We’re delighted to see how happy Joe is with his new trike. We understand what a significant difference the equipment we provide can make to disabled children.”
